This course consists of five structured lessons, each designed to enhance students' understanding of numerical data and calculations in a real-world context.

Lesson 1: Understanding and Interpreting Numerical Data

• Interpreting      continuous and discrete numerical data.
• Understanding      different forms of data presentation (tables, lists, and graphical      representation).

Lesson 2: Basic Arithmetic Operations

• Reviewing      the four fundamental operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication,      and division.
• Application      of arithmetic operations in practical scenarios (e.g., calculating      expenses, income, and savings).
• Order      of operations (BODMAS/BIDMAS).
• Problem-solving      using arithmetic operations.

Lesson 3: Estimations and Rounding Techniques

• Importance      of estimation in real-life decision-making.
• Rounding      off numbers to the nearest whole number, decimal place, and significant      figures.
• Practical      applications of estimation in shopping, finance, and measurement.
• Error      margins and their significance in estimation.

Lesson 4: Working with Percentages and Ratios

• Definition      and real-life significance of percentages and ratios.
• Calculating      percentages in various contexts (e.g., discount calculations, VAT, mark-up      and interest rates).
• Ratio      interpretation and applications in business, recipes, and financial      planning.
• Problem-solving      using percentage and ratio applications.

Lesson 5: Application in Real-Life Scenarios

• Applying      numbers and calculations in everyday situations.
• Financial      literacy applications (e.g., interpreting payslips, analyzing bills, and      understanding cost structures).
• Using      numerical reasoning in time management, travel planning, and      business-related calculations.
• Case      studies and problem-solving exercises based on real-world examples.
